James first got into cycling in 2014 after being entered into Ride London as part of a charity fundraising team and got bitten by the cycling bug from then on. He is a ride captain and vice chairman of his local cycling club and organises the annual reliability ride which supports local charities. He also holds the dubious honour of being one of the only cyclists brave enough to take an aero bike on a trip to the Alps.
